Letters of Henry M. Baird [manuscript], 1881, 1889.

In a letter to the Reverend Edward Abbott, 1881 January 15, Baird returns a question and requests a copy, if published. He also asks for a copy of "Literary World" with the copy of a review of his "Rise of the Huguenots." In a letter to Benjamin W. Austin, 1889 March 11, Baird accepts his election to honorary membership in the Trinity Historical Society (and declines on behalf of his late brother).

The Reverend Edward Abbott began his ministry as a congregational pastor in Cambridge, Mass. and was later ordained by the Episcopal Church. He was rector of St. James Church in Cambridge from 1879 to 1906. In addition to his pastoral duties, he was editor of "The Congregationalist" (1869-1878) and "The Literary World" (1877-1888; 1895-1903).
